Bake Me a Wish Review

And the winner is.....#5!!!!! I will be contacting the winner by email!

Yesterday, the UPS man knocked at my door and I squealed with delight! Yes, you can remind me of that later on, lol! But the reason for the squeal? He was delivering my Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake! (Picture above) The cake was positively divine! I had a little wedge, but you see, the rest of my family was home plus a couple of our married college age kids were dining with us and that cake was gone before you could say, "Would you like a slice?"

Here is a description of the Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake by Bake Me a Wish :

Our moist & fudgy brownie cake goes through three chocolate "passes" before it's "done": first it's enrobed in rich chocolate, then it gets completely blanketed with a shower of dark chocolate shaves; last, the cake is finished with milk and dark chocolate glazes drizzled all over and the Belgian chocolate plaque of your choice; for a brownie dessert that's over-the-top-triple-delicious!

Bake Me a Wish has graciously offered a ONE WINNER a Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake of their very own!

Let me give you some important information about Bake Me a Wish!

Friend Making Monday

If you're new to
Friend Makin' Monday please go here for all of the details.

If you joining me from Shawn's Blog, Seriously, WELCOME!!! I'm so glad your here! Now to start this weeks questions:)

What are you doing this 4th of July?

Honestly, probably nothing. How incredibly sad is that? We used to go out to my families farm, but that hasn't happened in the last couple of years. My guess is because we have wee folks now and its just not as much fun if you have to be careful with the fireworks. Honestly, I'm alright with that, so we'll just hang here at home and listen to my neighborhood go insane with firecrackers and such, lol!

What is your favorite dish to pass when attending a 4th of July party or summer barbecue?

I'm going to try some new recipes for us this year. I've really wanted to learn how to make corn casserole, so I'll give that a shot. I'm a baked bean kinda girl, so that is what I liked to take to picnics:) I'm sure there will be some around here!

Do you have any July 4th traditions?

Hmm, not really. We always honor those who are in our family that served in the military though:)

Share your favorite July 4th picture.

Oh my gosh, these are my two oldest...before the twins were born. They were just babies!

Be sure and head over to Shawn's to enter Mr. Linky so others can see yours!

God does not make junk

What Makes Me Smile?

Heathahlee is doing a new Mr. Linky posts on Monday over at Butterfly Genes and its called What Makes Me Smile:)

What makes me smile is the sound of my childrens laughter! I know this is so basic but I can be in the worst mood in the world and if they start giggling I just can't help but smile!

How about you? What makes you Smile?

L. Herbert Designs Original Art Giveaway

SarahMae from Like a warm cup of coffee is doing a giveaway for L. Herbert Designs and you totally need to head over there and check it out! These prints are just precious! Go take a look and then go enter the giveaway!

Tonight my heart was broken

Broken for something that is good, amazing, breath taking! I spent a lot of tonight in tears, I felt the movement of the Holy Spirit within me and through those around me so clearly, it was a physical presence. I have not felt that in a long time and I broke into tears.

I watched as prayer warriors came to the front of the church and prayed over a team of missionaries that are heading to Africa to set up a medical clinic. Not just a few prayer warriors but over 40 men and women came and laid their hands on this group of 12 and prayed. I started crying and could not stop.

Tonight at church service, the topic was on Apathy. The bible reference is Revelations 3:15-22. Jesus is talking to the church of Laodicea and explaining to them that they are a lukewarm church. Yes, his reference is drawn from the hot spring that flows down from Hierapolis through Laodicea, but really it is a direct look at the church that claims to be rich and have everything. Jesus tells them that "For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked."

That challenged me in that, do I feel rich in my faith because of my comfort in where I am? I have tried to encourage outreach and community love with others and have watched it fail horribly, but what about just me going out there and planting a few seeds? I do not need a church behind me to reach out to those who are in need. To those who do not know the love of Christ. Those who do not know through him, they are forgiven and loved.

Another part of the sermon was on the Pro Life movement here in Wichita. This particular church has a Pro Life Ministry and had someone from the Pregnancy Crisis Center come speak in the service tonight. The Pastor said something that shook me to the core of my being. While one of the biggest abortion Doctors in the U.S. lived here until a few weeks ago when he was murdered by a vigilante, I was blind. I knew he was a huge force in the second and trimester abortions and performed them at his clinic for last 20+ years, these words crept into my soul and shook me..."while we have blindly went on our way, believing what we will about abortion and the rights of women, we as a city have been breathing in the ashes of all the murdered babies from the incinerator of Tiller's clinic." Take that in...I mean, really think about it. I for one was shamed. But I cannot look back, I must look forward at what I can do now.

So, here's my personal challenge to myself: I'm going to get involved with a group here in Wichita called Young Life. If you've never heard of them, check out the link! They are an awesome Godly group that is nationwide and reaching teen mothers.

I will no longer sit in my comfort zone but force myself out of empathy and into action. What will you do to share the love of Christ? To get out of your comfort zone?

In His Love and Grace,
Michelle

Tuesday...whew!

What a whirlwind day! Started out with dropping Tori off at volleyball practice for an hour...really? One hour? Geez! Then boogeying (my version of the word:P) over to the church to drop the twinks off at Kids Day Inn...back into the car and head to the dentist...we, as in Nick and I have 1 1/2 hours to get a filling each. No problem! They actually have us in and out of there in 45 minutes:) Call my oldest to make sure he was able to safely drive and pick up Tori from practice...yes, they are home safe and sound (huge weight off my shoulders there as it was the first time we let him drive by himself in one of our cars!), pick up the twinks, come home and feed everyone lunch...12:30 back out the door for Tori and I. I have a meeting with our Senior Pastor to discuss my testimony and Tori is heading out to 3 and 4th grade camp to sponser! She's so brave! Finish my meeting, kiss Tori on the forehead and tell her I'll see her Thursday morning, back home I come.

Now, Twinks have decided in the past week they don't want to take a nap...this is not good news! I'm not being a lazy mom by any stretch of the imagination, but at 7:40 tonight, I have to listen to extremely tired, extremely cranky two year old cry. They don't want to be held, the don't want to rocked, they just want to be miserable, which makes me miserable:( I really wish they would take a nap!

I have a couple of awards I recieved, that I just LOVE but darnit, I can't find the time to post them and forward them onto very deserving bloggers! Pray for me please, lol, cause honestly, my normal down time of after 9 p.m....you will find me in my finally silent house, in my bed, sound to sleep!

Time Out Pad Giveaway

I don't know about the rest of you, but my two year olds will not stay in time out for nothing! Soooo, Frugal Mommy is doing a giveaway for the Time Out Pad created by Keen Distribution.

Head on over and sign in to win!
