Perfect for gift giving for a graduation, Father's Day, or year-round for business or church leaders.

Michelle's Review:

This is a great little book that would make a fabulous gift for someone just going into leadership or is a seasoned leader.  The encouragement found in The Right to Lead by John C. Maxwell makes it the perfect gift book to give.  Five stars for this little book!  Some of the folks who add their stories of leadership in The Right to Lead are General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, Nelson Mandela, and Harriet Tubman.

Avatar Movie Review 5/24/10

Who our there hasn't heard about the movie Avatar??  When the opportunity was given to review the movie after it was released to DVD/Blu-Ray I said sure!  I did not get to go see it in the theaters, and honestly, I'm okay with that.  I heard about how people were motion sick from watching the movie in 3D, lol, and I'd just rather not.

Just in case you haven't heard about or seen the movie Avatar, honestly you must live in a hole!, but here's the synopsis of the movie, Avatar:

Jake Sully has been asleep for six years.

More accurately, he’s been in cryogenic stasis five years, nine months and 22 days—the time needed to shuttle him and a crew of scientists and ex-Marine mercenaries from a decaying, oil-depleted Earth to the distant, forest-covered moon Pandora in the year 2154.

The job of the heavies? Protect miners, botanists and engineers from the perils of Pandora. Jake’s task, though he’s ex-military himself, is altogether different. His career was cut short by injuries that left him a paraplegic. Then he got tapped to take the place of his twin brother (a researcher who died unexpectedly) in the Avatar project, led by Dr. Grace Augustine.

Dr. Augustine has pioneered a way to make contact with the moon’s primary population, an intelligent, 10-foot-tall, blue-skinned, wide-eyed humanoid race known as the Na’vi. Blending human and Na’vi DNA, Augustine and her compatriots have bioengineered Na’vi-like bodies that can be linked through immersive virtual reality with "drivers," of which Jake is one.

And all of that is just the setup before things really get rolling in James Cameron’s hyper-animated technology experiment.

What did Michelle think of the movie?

The action in the movie was great!  Avatar really pulls you in and keeps you engaged in the movie.  The aliens are very cat like in they way they act and in their movements.  I thought it was neat the way the soldiers could "become" one of the Na'vi's through virtual reality.  I wouldn't mind being able to jump from tree to tree with ease, let me tell you!  lol

Obvious political statements were being made in the movie.  The big bad Army comes in and takes over territories that have lived peacefully with the help of the Americans.  Kinda interesting.  I would be there will be a sequel.  The other thing that caught my attention is the name of the Na'vi's goddess, Ahwa.  Turn Jehovah God's name around, Yahweh...just something to ponder on.

Yes, I'd say get the DVD!  The movie is good and action packed.  Language could be better, and the Na'vi dress rather scantily but if you understand that this is a fantasy movie all will be fine.  At least I haven't seen any giant blue cat people walking around....have you? ;)

The Ready Store Product Review

Good Morning World!  I hope your having a fabulous Monday!  I'm here to tell you about my experience with The Ready Store:)

I have a pretty small house, so I'm always looking for ways to store up food that will last and be delicious no matter when I open it. When I was contacted by The Ready Store to review some of their food and products, I thought why not?

Information about the company:

But if you really want to be prepared you need great information to go along with the emergency supplies. Thats why we introduced the survival and emergency preparedness blog. If you have questions about anything don't hesitate to contact us. Below are some of the emergency supplies we specialize in.

As fellow bloggers know, there is nothing more thrilling than that knock at the door!  How surprised was I when I looked out to see a huge box from The Ready Store!

That baby was heavy too!  lol  They sent me a full meal plus an MRE (Military Meals Ready to Eat), water bottle with purifier and a Compact Dynamo Radio with 5-LED Flashlight , Siren - AM/FM. The radio/flashlight is going in the family van for emergencies.

My sweet husband snagged the MRE and took it to lunch with him the next day at work.  He was very impressed with all of the contents and said he was definitely full after eating it all.  He liked the convenience of everything being flat.  Plus he was able to throw it in his desk drawer and not worry about it until lunch time.

We decided to prepare a family dinner with the Beef Stroganoff and Saratoga Farms Cinnamon Apples on Friday.  My older kids weren't too sure about this, lol, but as you can see, Diva was all about those dried apples:)

What I appreciated about the meal is that it was quick to make.  Less than 10 minutes and I had a healthy, filling dinner sitting on the table.  And the food tasted good!  This would be great for the outdoors person who stays out in the wilderness for a week.  You could easily feed your family well on this food and not have to worry about anything going bad.

Okay, that looks delicious doesn't it!?  And there were NO leftovers!  My two oldest are the pickiest eaters in the world and they went back for seconds! The two other products they sent me that I haven't tried yet is the Saratoga Farms Instant Chicken Gravy
and Saratoga Farms Garden Green Peas.

Head over to The Ready Store and check out all of the things they have available!  Very affordable and quick delivery are huge pluses in my book!  I know that I'll be headed back to purchase the Biscuits and Gravy ReadyMeal Pak!
