When I dream of my "perfect" bedroom...

I love Cottage Style Decor.  The kind you imagine at a Bed and Breakfast.  Clean, white walls, touches of pinks, cranberries, and sky blues.  Flowers everywhere!  The kind of bed that allows you to sink deep into the feather mattress as you lean back against the sturdy farmhouse headboard to read a favorite book.  Here's a little peek into one of the bedroom photos that I found online.

**Graphic from http://www.home-designing.com**

I just love the feel of this room.  The soft bedding seems to just welcome you to come in and snuggle with your honey.  The rug is just beautiful and the furniture...and the natural sunlight...well what can I say?  I love it!  One of my favorite things to do is get online and make up "dream lists".  I'm not coveting what I can never have, just things I can't have for now. I have found that CSN Stores has just about anything you could ever need including that beautiful headboard, rugs, bedding sets, and furniture

What do you dream about?  Do you have a room in your house that you would love to completely makeover?  Maybe once you've retired? (Do Mom's ever really retire? lol)

**Disclaimer:  This Headboard Teaser post is sponsored by CSN Stores.  I have received a gift certificate to publish this post.  Thank you.**

The Sorcerer's Apprentice Sneak Peek!

I am super excited to see this movie!!!  I've always loved the Fantasia movie and now for them to bring it live action with Nicholas Cage as the Sorcerer!  Oh yes!  This is going to be awesome!

About the movie:

Balthazar Blake (NICOLAS CAGE) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (ALFRED MOLINA).  Balthazar can't do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (JAY BARUCHEL), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé.  The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness.  It'll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE. The screenplay is by Matt Lopez and Doug Miro and  Carlo Bernard from a screen story by Matt Lopez and Larry Konner and Mark Rosenthal.

Release Date:  Opens nationwide on Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Heroes for My Son by Brad Meltzer Book Review

Book Synopsis:

Who are your heroes?
Bestselling novelist Brad Meltzer has long pondered this question, and when his first child was born eight years ago, he decided to put pen to paper. The result is Heroes for My Son, his first nonfiction work, just released this month. A passion project in the truest sense, in the book Meltzer profiles 52 of his personal heroes and offers insight into why he has found these individuals so inspirational, and how their stories demonstrate what it means to be heroic in everyday life.

My Viewpoint:
Have you ever read one of those books that makes you think "this is a keeper."  That is what I thought when I read Heroes for My Son.  This book made me look at different folks from a whole new light.  Reading words, some well known and other obscure that they have spoken, was refreshing, enlightening, and provoking.

One of my favorite quotes is about the Wright Brothers.

"Every day, they knew they'd fail.

Every time they'd go out to fly-every time- they brought extra materials because they knew their fledgling design would crash.

Crash and rebuild. Crash and rebuild.

But never ever, ever give up."

What amazing encouragement to give to you child as they go through life's struggles! We've all been there when the chips are down and we are begging God to show us the way clearly...and still He makes us wait.  Scripture first, but then Heroes for My Son by Brad Meltzer is a good second when you just don't know what to say.

More than a gift book, Heroes for My Son is a book you'll want to keep on your shelves to use for future reference.
